Booking is super easy via the booking page, select an available slot- don’t worry if you are unsure of the piercing you’d like at the moment, we can work that out together during your appointment time! We take piercing walk in’s during opening hours, however it may be best to call head to ensure we will be able to fit you in!

Any one under the age of 16 must have a parent present to consent, and to join them in our piercing room at all times. Over 16’s must bring a valid photo ID (provisional license. Passport). Nipple piercings are only performed on over 18’s.

We do not support the use of piercing “guns” due to the lack of cleanliness, and associated dangers. We only perform needle piercings with up to date, safe and effective methods.

Unfortunately we are not currently offering intimate piercings at this time.

When performed by skilled and experienced professionals using appropriate sterile and disposable instruments, risks are extremely minimal. Of course proper after care of your piercing is vital.

In accordance with the association of safe piercing guidelines, we are happy to pierce 3 months post birth, as there is no evidence of increased risks after this time. The exception to this would be nipple piercings.

Two main factors affect the risk of infection after piercing- unsterile piercing conditions/equipment or jewellery or incorrect aftercare. At Enigma, we hold our infection control standards to the highest degree, and we adhere to safe and effective methods and procedures meticulously to ensure this is not a contributing factor to any infection. Although infections post piercing are rare, please ensure you have read and understood all piercing aftercare advice and contact us directly or visit a medical professional if there is any suspicion of infection. Correct sizing of piercing throughout the healing process is also essential - please contact us if you suspect you need to change the size of your jewellery.

Some medical conditions such as Diabetes, Lupus, HIV/AIDS and other immune system disorders may cause delayed healing, and increase risk of infection. It is best to seek the advice of a medical professional if you are unsure if piercing is safe for you. Proof of doctor approval is necessary if you suffer from any serious cardiac problems or heart disorders. Finally, at Enigma we won’t pierce during pregnancy or 3 months post birth (if nursing).

Although migration (the piercing moving from initial placement) and rejection (the body expelling the piercing from the body) are the most common complications post piercing, they are generally avoidable when proper techniques, jewellery and aftercare are followed. Use our recommended piercing aftercare product, make sure you check back in with us if you are experiencing any difficulties with healing, and stick to the recommended sizes and style of jewellery to avoid any unnecessary issues.

The most common allergy to metal is nickel, which is a common component in low quality jewellery. Titanium has been found to be the most effective metal for initial piercing, that is why we opt to use this for all of our fresh piercings.
